wood, metal fencing, fishing line, approximately 150 commemorative kippot (aka yarmulkes) generously donated by the community, 6 ft. from topmost kippah to lowest kippah.

deeply inspired by the outstanding finale to Joey Soloway’s Transparent (an eccentric rainbow dance number to an original song, “Joyocaust”), this piece serves as evidence of Jewish joy and celebration. each individual kippah (traditionally worn by Jewish men during prayer) was originally a souvenir from a wedding or bar/bat mitzvah, inscribed with names and dates. the act of bringing together these signifiers of Jewish happiness and excitement and celebration allows these moments of good to take up space and allows for a celebration of all of the celebration.
